The Mock Election Project

To end our unit covering government systems we are staging a Mock Election for a fictional country.  For this project students in the 8th grade class are forming political parties and creating election websites that state their parties position on key issues.  Student websites must do the following things:

1. Explain how they think the country's government should operate and why.
2. Create a list of rights that they will guarantee the people and explain why people need those rights.
3. Propose solutions for the challenges the country is facing and how they will be carried out.
4. Create advertisements to persuade viewers to vote for their party.

Websites are to be completed by March 24th and the election will be held March 26th.  Keep an eye on the site for updates and come vote on election day!
